I want to give you some informations about this amigurumi free pattern ; Frosty the Snowman.
Materials:
– 50 g colour no 0100, off white
– 50 g colour no 8903, black
– 50 g colour no 2915, orange
– Some cotton wool for filling
Amigurumi Frosty the Snowman Free Pattern:
SNOWMAN:
Beg at the bottom of body and work 2 or 3 snowballs on top of each other in different sizes. Then crochet the hat, nose and scarf. Everything is crochet with 1 thread and hook size 2.5 mm.
The snowman can be made with 2 or 3 snowballs on top of each other.
1ST SNOWBALL:
Work 4 ch with off white and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 8 dc in ch-ring – see CROCHET TIP!
ROUND 2: 2 dc in every dc = 16 dc.
ROUND 3: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 24 dc.
ROUND 4: * 1 dc in each of the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 32 dc.
ROUND 5: * 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 40 dc.
Work 10 rounds with 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 16: * 3 dc, crochet 2 dc tog – see explanation above *, repeat from *-* = 32 dc.
ROUND 17: * 2 dc, crochet 2 dc tog – see explanation above *, repeat from *-* = 24 dc.
ROUND 18: * 1 dc, crochet 2 dc tog *, repeat from *-* = 16 dc.
ROUND 19: * Crochet all dc tog 2 by 2 = 8 dc, do not cut the thread. The first snowball is now done, fill it with some cotton and continue with the second snowball.
2ND SNOWBALL:
ROUND 20: Work as 2nd round = 16 dc.
ROUND 21: Work as 3rd round = 24 dc.
Work 7 rounds with 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 29: Work as 18th round = 16 dc.
ROUND 30: Work as 19th round = 8 dc.
If you want a snowman with 2 snowballs, cut the thread. Fill with some cotton, sew the thread end around the opening and tighten tog. If you want a snowman with 3 snowballs continue the pattern as follows:
3RD SNOWBALL:
ROUND 31: Work as round 2 = 16 dc.
ROUND 32: Work as round 3 = 24 dc.
Work 5 rounds with 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 37: Work as round 18 = 16 dc.
ROUND 38: Work as round 19 = 8 dc.
Cut the thread. Fill with some cotton, sew the thread end around the opening and tighten tog.
HAT FOR SNOWMAN WITH 2 SNOWBALLS:
Work 4 ch with black and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 8 dc in ch-ring – see CROCHET TIP!
ROUND 2: 2 dc in every dc = 16 dc.
ROUND 3: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 24 dc.
ROUND 4: 1 dc in every dc – NOTE: Only work the back loop on this round to get an edge where the crown of the hat ends.
Continue working 6 rounds with 1 dc in every dc (working through both loops as usual).
ROUND 11: Work 3 ch, then 2 tr in every dc the rest of the round = 48 tr. Cut and fasten the thread. Crochet a ch-row of 30 ch, fold it double and tie a knot at the bottom and pull it through the top of the hat. Fill some cotton in the hat and sew it to the top of the head.
HAT FOR SNOWMAN WITH 3 SNOWBALLS:
Work 4 ch with black and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 8 dc in ch-ring – see CROCHET TIP!
ROUND 2: 2 dc in every dc = 16 dc.
ROUND 3: 1 dc in every dc – NOTE: Only work the back loop on this round to get an edge where the crown of the hat ends.
Continue working 4 rounds with 1 dc in every dc (working through both loops as usual).
ROUND 8: Work 3 ch, then 2 tr in every dc the rest of the round = 32 tr. Cut and fasten the thread. Crochet a ch-row of 30 ch, fold it double and tie a knot at the bottom and pull it through the top of the hat. Fill some cotton in the hat and sew it to the top of the head.
NOSE:
Work 4 ch with orange and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 4 dc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2-3: 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 4: Crochet the first 2 dc tog, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc = 3 dc.
ROUND 5: Crochet the first 2 dc tog, 1 dc in next dc = 2 dc. Cut the thread and fasten the nose at the middle of the head.
FACE:
Embroider eyes and a mouth (if you desired) with black.
SCARF:
Work 4 ch with orange, turn and work 1 dc in each of the 3 last ch. Continue to crochet stripes as follows: * 2 rows with black, 2 rows with orange *, repeat from *-* until the scarf measures approx. 20 cm, cut the thread. Tie the scarf around the snowman’s neck.
