🔧 Final Assembly & Attachment Guide

Assembly Order – Quick Checklist

  1. Complete and fully stuff the cushion base
  2. Finish all unicorn parts
  3. Sew arms onto upper body
  4. Attach head to upper body
  5. Position unicorn on cushion and pin
  6. Sew unicorn to cushion
  7. Secure all ends and final shaping

Attachment Method

The unicorn is attached as a decorative upper body only.

The cushion base must be completed, firmly stuffed, and fully closed before assembly begins.

Before attaching:

  • Flatten the open edge of the upper body into an oval
  • Position unicorn at the center top of the cushion
  • Adjust angle for balance
  • Pin securely

Attach using a mattress stitch, sewing the flattened oval edge directly onto the cushion surface.

Work slowly and evenly around the entire edge.

Because both parts use the same yarn and tension, the seam blends naturally and appears almost seamless.

⚖ Stability & Weight Distribution

The cushion base is the only weight-bearing structure.

The unicorn is decorative and is not designed to support seating weight.

Flattening the upper body base and using firm stuffing prevents sagging or distortion over time.

For extra durability, reinforce the seam with a second pass of stitching.

✔ Final Finishing Checklist

  • All seams tight and secure
  • No stuffing visible
  • Unicorn sits upright and balanced
  • Arms rest naturally
  • All ends woven in firmly

💡 Designer Tips

Extra-firm stuffing improves seating comfort.

Neutral cushion colors with pastel unicorn accents tend to be the most popular combination.

Photograph your finished piece in natural light for best results.
