SIZE:
Piece measures approx. Circumference = 15 cm Height: = 17 cm
YARN:
DROPS LIMA from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
50 g colour for edge and tassel: 0100 off white
50 g colour for hat: 3609 red / 0705 olive / 9030 dark ivy
And use:
Some left-over yarn of in colour 0206, wheat – for nose.
1 egg warmer weighs approx. 16 g.
CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3.5 mm.
CROCHET TENSION:
20 double crochets in width and 20 rows vertically on hook size 3.5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE! Remember that hook size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger hook. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller hook.
Amigurumi Ornament Hats Free Pattern:
EGG WARMER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Work in the round bottom up. When the hat is done, fold the edge at the front of hat up and fasten. Work a loose nose that is sewn on at the bottom of the fold, then make 1 tassel which is fastened at the top of hat. Bend the top of hat some-what down and fasten with a couple of stitches.
EGG WARMER:
Use hook size 3.5 mm and colour off white in DROPS Lima.
Crochet a chain stitch ring as explained in diagram A.1. Crochet A.2 (= beginning and end of the round), crochet A.3 a total of 6 times around the chain stitch ring. After 1st round in A.2/A.3 switch to colour red / olive / dark ivy (= colour of the hat itself) and continue with this colour. Remember to follow the crochet tension.
When A.2 and A.3 are worked in height, there are 24 double crochets + 1 chain stitch on the round. Now work as follows: Crochet A.4 (beginning and end of the round), crochet A.5 a total of 4 times in the round. Continue like this. When A.4 and A.5 are done in height, there are 4 double crochets + 1 chain stitch on the round.
Cut the yarn and baste yarn up and down through top of hat, tighten together and fasten.
ASSEMBLY:
Fold the bottom 4-5 round mid front of hat up and fasten fold mid front with a couple of stitches.
NOSE:
Use colour wheat and work after diagram A.6. Cut the yarn (long enough to sew with) and pull yarn through the stitch. Pouf up the stitches to form a nice, round bobble for nose. Fasten nose mid front of hat at the bottom by the fold.
TASSEL:
See diagram A.7 and cut 12 strands with a length of 10 cm in colour off white. Cut 1 strand of 20 cm in colour off white to fasten the tassel. Place this strand over the other strands. Place strand of 10 cm double and tie a new strand in colour off white around the top of tassel (approx. 0.5 cm from fold). Fasten strand tightly and the fasten the tassel at the top of hat. Cut tassel to desired length.
ASSEMBLY:
Fold the top part of hat down and fasten with a couple of stitches in base colour – see photo.
