Materials:
– Worsted weight yarn – approx. 60 yards light purple, 30 yards white.
(I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in the colors White and Orchid for my bunny)
– Suggested hook size: 3.25mm (D)
– 2 x 6mm safety eyes
– Pink embroidery floss
– Blush
My bunny measures 5″ long when made with the above materials.
Head
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: sc inc x 6 (12)
R3: (1 sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
R4: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 (24)
R5-8: 24 sc (24)
R9: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
R10: (1 sc, sc dec) x 6 (12)
Place safety eyes between R6-7, 5 sts apart.
R11: sc dec x 6 (6)
FO, stuff and whip stitch FLO to close up head.
Stitch a nose between R7-8.
Ears
(Make 2)
R1: 4 sc in MR (4)
R2: sc inc x 8 (8)
R3: (3 sc, sc inc) x 2 (10)
R4-6: 10 sc (10)
R7: (3 sc, sc dec) x 2 (8)
R8: 8 sc (8)
FO with tail, flatten (do not stuff) and sew to the head.
Hood
R2: sc inc x 6 (12)
R3: (1 sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
R4: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 (24)
R5-7: 24 sc (24)
R8: Make ear holes: 6 sc, ch 5, skip 5 sts, 3 sc, ch 5, skip 5 sts, 5 sc (18 sc and 10 ch)
You may need to adjust the center stitches depending on how close together you sewed your ears on. As long as you have 2 ear holes and end with 24 stitches (14 + 10 ch), you’re good to go!
R9: sc 24 in each st and each ch around (24)
R10-12: sc 24 (24)
FO with tail.
Insert the head into the hood and sew together on the bottom, where the head will attach to the body.
Arms
(Make 2)
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: (2 sc, sc inc) x 2 (8)
R3: 8 sc (8) Change to purple on the last st of this round.
R4-9: 8 sc (8)
Stuff.
R10: 4 sc across both sides of R9 closing the top of the arm.
FO.
Body
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: sc inc x 6 (12)
R3: (1 sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
R4: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 (24)
R5: 24 sc (24)
R6: (4 sc, sc dec) x 4 (20)
R7-11: 20 sc (20)
R12: (3 sc, sc dec) x 4 (16)
R13-14: 16 sc
R15: Attach the arms: Insert hook into 1st st on arm and next st on body, sc together. Repeat for next 3 sts of arm and body. 4 sc over to the other side of the body, then attach the 2nd arm, sc them together. 4 sc remaining sts on body.
R16: (3 sc, sc dec) x 4 (12)
Stuff, FO and sew to the bottom of the head/hood.
Add blush to the cheeks and ears if desired.
