Attach the safety eyes along with the white crocheted eyes, position them so there is a small gap between the whites of the eyes. Start to stuff the body.

Tail Feathers (make 2)

1 With black, ch 5. 5
2 – 4 In the 2nd ch from the hook, SC in each ch.
Turn and repeat for row 3 and 4. F/O. 4
Fold in half lengthways and sew edges together.
Head Feathers (make 2)
Rnd Stitches End
1 With blue, 6 SC in Magic Ring. 6
2 – 7 SC around. F/O 6
Make a second head feather using the above instructions but only work up to round 5 so this one is a little shorter
Making Up
Before sewing on the whites of the eyes cut out circle in the red felt, cut the circle in half and place each half just under the eye whites and sew on using the red cotton, now sew the eye whites down onto the body. Lightly stuff the beak and sew onto the body directly under the middle of both eyes. Sew the head feathers next to each other onto the top centre of the head, these don’t need to be stuffed but you can if you wish to. For the two tail feathers make sure you fold them in half lengthways and sew edges together if you haven’t done this earlier. Then sew these onto the back bottom half of the birds’ body.
