What you will need:<br />
<strong>LACE</strong><br />
If your fireplace is in need of new stockings,<br />
this one is a great option! Super Saver<br />
Fair Isle colorways knit up in fun patterns,<br />
without having to change colors! Top it off<br />
with a festive Fur yarn trim and your halls<br />
will be decked in no time<br />
Stocking measures 20&#8243; (51 cm) long<br />
and 15&#8243; (38 cm) around leg.<br />
<strong>SPECIAL TECHNIQUE</strong><br />
w&amp;t (wrap and turn): slip next stitch<br />
purlwise to right needle, bring yarn<br />
between needles, slip st back to left<br />
needle unworked; turn work.<br />
<strong>LEG</strong><br />
With A and double-pointed needles,<br />
cast on 56 sts. Place marker and join<br />
into the round, being careful not to<br />
twist sts.<br />
Round 1: Knit around.<br />
Round 2: Purl around.<br />
Rounds 3-45: Knit around.<br />
<strong>HEEL</strong><br />
*Short Row 1: K28, turn; place remaining<br />
28 sts on st holder.<br />
Short Row 2: P27, w&amp;t.<br />
Short Row 3: K26, w&amp;t.<br />
Short Row 4: P25, w&amp;t.<br />
Short Row 5: Knit to 1 st before<br />
previously wrapped st, w&amp;t.<br />
Short Row 6: Purl to 1 st before<br />
previously wrapped st, w&amp;t.<br />
Repeat Short Rows 5 &amp; 6 until 10 sts<br />
remain unwrapped in the center.<br />
Next row: Knit to first wrapped st, knit<br />

<strong>FOOT</strong><br />
Transfer held sts back onto needle.<br />
Working in the round, knit 24 rounds<br />
even.<br />
<strong>TOE</strong><br />
Repeat from * to ** on first 28 Toe sts,<br />
placing remaining 28 instep sts on st<br />
holder.<br />
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for grafting<br />
or seaming.<br />
<strong>FINISHING</strong><br />
Transfer held sts back onto needle. With<br />
yarn needle, graft or seam last row<br />
of Toe to Foot instep sts. Break yarn,<br />
leaving a 6&#8243; (15.25 cm) tail.<br />
<strong>Cuff</strong><br />
With B and circular needle, pick up st in<br />
first cast-on st, skip next st, *pick up st<br />
in next cast-on st, skip next st; repeat<br />
from * around cuff – 28 sts.<br />
Next round: *Knit through the back<br />
loop; repeat from * around.<br />
Next round: Purl around.<br />
Bind off all sts.<br />
Break yarn, leaving a 6&#8243; (15.25 cm) tail.<br />
Hanging Loop (Optional)<br />
With crochet hook and wrong side of<br />
stocking facing, join A at Leg cast-on<br />
edge and pull up a loop. Ch 13, slip st to<br />
first st to create hanging loop. Fasten<br />
off, leaving a 6&#8243; (15.25 cm) tail.<br />
With yarn needle, weave in all loose<br />
ends. Steam lightly if desired.<br />
