MATERIALS:
– Worsted-weight yarn (4-ply) in any two contrasting colors. (The U.K. equivalent is Aran, and AUS/NZ is 8 ply.) For my lamb, I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in the color “Fisherman” and Hobby Lobby’s brand I Love This Yarn in the color “Black”.
– E (3.5 mm) crochet hook
– 9 mm black safety eyes 
– Fiberfill (or your stuffing of choice) 
– Bent tip tapestry needle

Amigurumi Crochet Baby Lamb Free Pattern:

Head (starting in black yarn)

The Berry Stitch
Now, we are going to make the curly wool. To make the wool curly, we will use the berry stitch (bs). To make the berry stitch, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull through. Now, working with only the front loop on the hook, ch 4. Now yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook. Your berry stitch is completed.

From here on out, every other stitch will be a BS. I’ve written out the pattern here exactly how I did it. If you miss a BS here and there, don’t worry—it’s a forgiving stitch. Just make sure you have the correct stitch count at the end of each round.
Switch to cream yarn

Face Details
Insert eyes between R8 & 9, 8 sts apart. (Hint: insert the 1st eye. Count 8 sts from the hole where you inserted the 1st eye and insert the 2nd eye.) Take some pink embroidery floss and embroider her nose approx. one round below the eyes. It should look like a “Y” about 1.5 sts wide at the top.

R14: *sc 1, bs 1, bs dec* rep 6 times (18 sts)
To make a berry stitch decrease, start making a regular decrease by inserting your hook into the first st, yarn over, pull through, and then inserting the hook into the next st, yarn over, pull through. You now have three loops on your hook. Using the loop closest to the tip of the hook, ch 4. Now yarn over and draw your hook through all loops. Your bs dec is complete. See the above video for a visual demonstration of this.

R15: *bs 1, dec* rep 6 times (12 sts)
Stop and begin stuffing. Also, mark R15 with a stitch marker like we did R8 as we will use this round later to sew the body to the head.
R16: *bs dec* rep 6 times (6 sts)
Finish off. Finish stuffing the head firmly and use the tail to sew up the hole, then weave in your end.

Ears (make 2 using black yarn)
R1: ch 5, starting in 2nd ch from hook, inc 1, sc
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Neatly weave the tail down to the bottom corner of the ear. Now, sew the ear to the head on R14 using that same tail. Do the same for the 2nd ear.

Body (using cream yarn)
The body is also made using the berry stitch.
R1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook (6 sts)
R2: *sc in next st, bs in same st as last sc* rep 6 times (12 sts)

Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff firmly and sew it to R8-15 approx. of the back of the head using the stitch markers we left as your guide. Position your body on the head exactly where you want it and pin it into place using straight pins. This way the body will not shift and move around while you are sewing it to the head.

Feet (make 4 starting in black yarn)
R1: ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 sts)
If making a white and cream lamb, switch to cream yarn; otherwise, continue in black.
R2-3: sc in all 5 sts (2 rounds total at 5 sts each)
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the two front feet to R8-10 of the body and the two back feet to R4-7 of the body. Again, position the legs exactly where you want them and pin them into place using straight pins to keep them from moving around while you are sewing them on.

After positioning the lgs and before sewing sewing them on, place your lamb on a flat surface to see if she can stand on her own without toppling over. You may need to adjust the placement of your legs if she can’t stand on her own.

Tail (using cream yarn)
Ch 4, starting in 2nd ch from hook, bs 1, sc 1, bs 1
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew to the back of the body and weave in all ends.

Starting with beige

NOTE – Here is where we will attach the facial features. Place the safety eyes 7 stitches apart between rounds 41 and 42. Add eyebrows/eyelashes to your liking before securing the backs of your safety eyes.

Nose – With brown crochet thread (or your beige yarn) make a ‘V’ for the nose starting at row 41 centered between the eyes. I spaced my ‘V’ with 3 stitches between the outer points and 2 stitches in on each side of the eyes. Lastly, create a line straight down from the center of your ‘V’ covering 2 rounds.

Cheeks – With pink yarn create the cheeks one round below and one stitch to the outer side of each eye covering a span of 2 stitches.
