Supplies
• Cotton yarn in two colours. DK (light in US) for the large jelly fish, lace thread (US #10) for the small baby jelly fish.
• Black & white cotton thread if embroidering eyes.
• 2mm crochet hook (large size)
• 1.25mm crochet hook (small size)
• Safety eyes (if using) 8mm for large, 6mm for small.
• Yarn needle
• Stuffing or scrap yarn
• Key ring chain (if using).

Amigurumi Crochet Jellyfish Keychain Free Pattern:

Body
Round 1: Make a MR. Make 6 sc into the MR (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc in each sc around. (12 sts.)
Round 3: (Inc, sc) Repeat around. (18 sts)
Round 4: (Inc, 2 sc) Repeat around. (24 sts)
Round 5: (Inc, 3 sc) Repeat around. (30 sts)
Round 6: (Inc, 4 sc) Repeat around. (36 sts)
Round 7: (Inc, 5 sc) Repeat around. (42 sts)
Round 8 -13: SC around. (42 sts)
Round 14: (Dec, 5 sc) Repeat around. (36 sts)
Round 15 -18: SC around. (36 sts). Cast off leaving a long thread to sew.
Tip: Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round. Move the stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each new round.
Insert safety eyes if using, between rows 14/15 with 6 stitches between eyes.

Body Base
Make a circle, with some rows worked back loop only (BLO).
Round 1: Make a MR. Make 6 sc into the MR (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc in each sc around BLO. (12 sts.)
Round 3: (Inc, sc) Repeat around. (18 sts)
Round 4: (Inc, 2 sc) Repeat around BLO. (24 sts)
Round 5: (Inc, 3 sc) Repeat around. (30 sts)
Round 6: (Inc, 4 sc) Repeat around BLO. (36 sts) Cast off leaving a long thread to sew.

Starfish (optional embellishment)
Round 1: Make a MR. (Chain 4, sl st into 1st Chain from hook, sl st into next stitch, sc into last stitch, sl st into MR) then repeat 4 more times ending with a sl st into the MR. Pull MR closed and cast off.

Tentacles
Make the tentacles in the rows of front loops we left when doing the BLO stitches on the body base (see photos).

Please note: the number of tentacles and placement can be random to your choosing.

Tentacles row 1
Make a slip knot on your hook and attach at one point of the hexagon shape on row 1 on the body base.
Round 1: Chain 25 stitches. (25 sts.)
Round 2: Starting in the second chain from your hook, sc into each chain. (24 sts.)
Round 3: Sl st into next front loop on the base and along to the next point on the hexagon. Repeat round 1 to 3 at each point. You will have 6 tentacles.

Tentacles row 2
With your second colour, make a slip knot on your hook and attach between two of the points of the hexagon shape on row 2 on the body base.
Round 1: Chain 30 stitches. (30 sts.)
Round 2: Starting in the second chain from your hook, sc into each chain. (29 sts.)
Round 3: Sl st into next front loop on the base and along to the next midpoint on the hexagon. Skipping a couple of the midpoints, repeat round 1 to 3 so you have 4 tentacles.

Tentacles row 3
Make a slip knot on your hook and attach to one of the stitches in row 3 on the body base.
Round 1: Chain 35 stitches. (35 sts.)
Round 2: Starting in the second chain from your hook, sc into each chain. (34 sts.)
Round 3: Sl st into next front loop on the base and repeat round 1 to 3 so you have 3 tentacles.

ASSEMBLY/FINISHING
1. Stuff your jelly fish body firmly, but be careful not to overstuff and stretch the stitches.
2. Attach the body base to the body using a tapestry needle with whipstitch.
3. Embroider eyes and face as desired.
4. Attach a keyring if using.
5. Optional: Add starfish embellishment.

• Attach the keychain in the middle of the magic ring.
(optional- bend a paperclip and stick through the magic ring to help attach a keychain).
• Place safety eyes 6 sts apart between rnd 7 and 8.
• Stuff the body firmly.
• Sew the body closed and weave in the tail.

Skirt
1. Insert hook under a loop from the outside going in.
2. Pull up a new loop with working yarn to start and ch 1.
3. Make 3 hdc in the next st, then slst in the st after.
Repeat 9x around.
4. After the final slst, cut a yarn tail and weave it into the body.

Small tentacles
1. Make a slip knot and ch 11.
2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, 8 sc across, 2sc in final st.
• Cut a tail for sewing.
• Make 3 small tentacles.

Large tentacles
1. Make a slip knot and ch 14.
2. Sc in 2nd from hook, 11 sc across, 2 sc in final st.
• Cut a tail for sewing.
